😟 Unable to Complete a Course?  Don't worry, you have options...

OPTION 1 Drop / Withdraw ⏹️

OPTION 2 Credit / No Credit 🆗

Should a student be unable / unwilling to complete the coursework for this class, they should note the drop, credit/no credit, and withdrawal deadlines for the quarter or speak with the instructor about an incomplete (see option 3 ⇨).

See here for the college’s GRADING definitions and policies.

If students have questions or concerns about one of my classes or my instruction, please speak with me about them

If we, as student and instructor, are unable to resolve any concerns, students may speak next with the Chair of the Humanities Division. The Chair can assist with information about additional steps, if needed.

OPTION 2 Academic Incomplete ⏸️

Should a student find themselves unable to complete the course presently, but desire to do so within one academic year, please contact the instructor BEFORE the end of the term to see if you are a candidate for an academic “Incomplete”.

This would involve agreeing on a quarter for the student to finish any missing work and being assigned an 'I' for the current quarter's grade (which would not affect the students’ GPA). During the agreed upon quarter, the student would email the instructor requesting re-entry into the course where they would then work at their own pace to finish up all remaining assignments. Once the student has notified the instructor of their completion, the instructor would replace the 'I' with the new earned grade.

Should a student not finish the work within one academic year, the 'I' would automatically turn into a 0.0 (or original grade).
